Description

So this is it. My actual throwing in the hat to :iconangel-fallsda: ring. Venus is a former Spartan warrior turned diety through a ritual, which is somewhat as close to Chaotic Neutral as possible. She gives a damn...and does like to help...but if she sees something that fits better to her interests and a challenge, shell totally ignore what the hell is going on and run for the challenge. Which can sometimes make her a bit easy to manipulate...but when she realizes whats going on and shes being manipulated? Its not fun for anyone. Anyhoo~

-------------

Name : Antiope Petrou

Alias : Venus (Name she primarily goes by, since she doesn’t quite use her birth name anymore.)

Identity : Not really secret. She never tried to.

Age : 2,648 years old, although she doesn’t look much older than 27.

Hair Color : Brunette.

Eye Color : A greenish brown tone.

Race : Diety.

Nationality : Greek.

Skin Color : Caucasian.

Height : 6' 6”.

Weight : 955 lbs (Muscle mass and bone density, can increase under certain circumstances)

Family ( and people she considers so ) : Agape (Mother, deceased), Adamos (Father, deceased), Nemesis (sister, unknown)

Occupation : Super Powered Vigalante, and occasional oddjobber since shes not quite used to the modern world yet.

Fighting Style : Ancient Pankration, Spartan Military Arts, both mixed into her own unique style.

Build : Very muscular for a female, which can increase.

Personality : If anything, Venus is a very decent and proud person outside of battle. She honestly feels that with her power, she should and could do whatever she needs to do to ensure that what she feels is right is done. She doesn’t usually force her way unless she feels it necessary, and is always one looking for a challenge. But one of her Achilles heels is indeed the fact she enjoys a challenge almost too much, that if she were facing a villain, and felt she could get a better fight out of a hero, she'd turn to face them to test herself. She does have a good moral compass, its just hard to ignore a fight when it comes to her.

Likes : Training, drinking, meeting other powered beings, people with a good bit of honor (no matter whether theyre good or evil), being pushed to her limits, and telling stories of her old battles.

Dislikes : Quick fights, honorless challengers, being told not to do something she really wants to do, and being reminded of her age.

Powers : Venus has a unique myriad of powers that do assist her quite well in combat, and do allow her to do battle with several heavy hitters.

Invulnerability – Due to the density of Venus' muscles, shes able to take immense concussive force, and is able to stand up against almost all bladed weapons and bullets. Very few things are able to cut her, proving her invulnerability may be incredible, but it isnt nigh. Her body's density outside of giving her great durability does allow her to handle most extreme weather conditions.

Healing – Due to her celestial roots, she heals at a higher rate than a normal mortal human being should be able to. Depending on the severity of the injury can determine how long healing takes, some being simple cuts could take several minutes, while broken limbs could take a few days. She hasn't been in a situation on whether she needs to regenerate a limb, so she has no idea how far her healing goes. Its also because of this, that she is immune to most terrestrial diseases.

Immortality – Due to her dietal powers, her aging has completely stopped, and has rendered her functionally immortal, and allows her to not be able to die by conventional means.

Strength – Venus' strength is quite immense due to her unique musculature. Very capable of impressive feats, her already high strength can also be increased from adrenaline from the heat of battle, which also increases her muscle mass to a point (roughly adding anywhere from 1.5, to 3 times the normal amount of mass on her frame). Her upper limits haven’t quite been measured in this current time period, but Venus was able to level cities with ease back in ancient times. Her leg strength allows her to run at 100 mph speeds, and be able to leap a few miles per jump.

Stamina – Due to the near non existent release of fatigue toxins in her body, Venus had superhuman stamina, allowing her to be able to be at her best for several hours at a time before needing a moment of reprieve. Its also through this she can survive with a lack of oxygen for at least 30 minutes before requiring more.

Hand to Hand Combat – Venus is very well versed in hand to hand combat, and is experienced with several different melee based weapons, although she prefers using her fists, feet and body, in some cases she is not beyond using a weapon.

In the year 648 BC, a young girl by the name of Antiope was born to a Spartan general by the name of Adamos, and a young blacksmith by the name of Agape. Antiope was originally pushed to learn under her mother as she aged, her father sensing the spirit of a fighter within her thought different. Originally Agape was against her daughter going to war much like her father, but she slowly but surely warmed herself up to the idea after a long talk with Adamos. It wasn’t long until the 6 year old was joined by another sibling, a young child they named Nemesis. Agape tried training Antiope whenever Adamos was away on campaign, for although she was a blacksmith, she was very well versed in many different weapons, from the sword to the mace, to the spear. But Agape realized, there was an unique destiny that had awaited her girls.

As the two aged, and matured, Antiope became a warrior under her fathers company, and Nemesis frequently did her best to try and keep up with her elder sibling, even if it usually got her harmed, or worse. By age 27, Antiope had become the second highest ranked warrior in her fathers command, and was actually the highest ranked female in the entire Spartan Army. Nemesis was now a 21 year old woman, who was also part of the company, but didn’t gain the respect her sister did, for she was nothing like Antiope. It stung deep... and it got to the point Nemesis was tired of living in her shadow. Calling on Hades, and offering her fathers army for his army of the dead, she stuck a deal, which had in turn doomed the company.

While on a march within the Roman borders, Adamos' company was under heavy attack by an army of Roman soldiers. They were being slaughtered, and it was happening so quickly that they weren’t able to properly defend themselves against the attack. They were captured, and were taken in to be sacrificed for their gods to give them power for the next battle. Antiope had watched as her close friends and fellow soldiers were killed one by one... and even seeing her father felled by arrows, had stirred such a great rage within her. It was her turn... she could feel the rain slowly come down, as she was tied to the post in the center. As they prayed, they prepared their arrows...and as they released them... the arrows crashed into her toned breasts, and then her tight abdominals. The clouds themselves began to stir...and the prayers were answered...except...it wasn’t for them.

The bolt of lightning crashed from the skies, hitting her bare chest, causing a reaction. It had revived her, but not as a human...but as something more. The arrows slowly pushed out of her body, as her somewhat toned body, began to put on incredible amounts of muscular mass, as she effortlessly freed herself from the ropes. Using her new-found power, the girl had easily dismantled her captors, and only wondered just where her sister was. But before she could continue traveling, two beings had come before her, Zeus and Ares, explaining that they had decided that she deserved the godly power that the army was to gain. Ares knew how the girl loved battle, and chose not to tell her of how her already great strength only seemed to grow when in battle and while she was driven by the fight. Zeus had only asked her to ensure she traveled and used her gifts as something that could remind the people of their true gods mercy. But before she went off, she was warned, never to return to Sparta...for all that would await her, is a lifetime of pain.

Not sure what the warning meant, Antiope began to travel the lands, facing great beasts, and armies, realizing that not much could ever push her the way battle had used to be. All the while wondering about the cryptic statement Zeus had told her about returning to her homeland. Unsure of what awaited her, she gave into temptation and had returned to her village, only to find it in flames. Amongst the flames, stood her sister...Nemesis, with a body much like her own, holding the dead body of her mother as she slowly smiled an insane grin. She realized...she could have returned sooner, and stopped this.. Zeus foresaw this and did not warn her. With a fury the elder sister attacked the younger, as their bodies clashed, the force causing powerful quakes through the region. It was causing extreme disturbances, and although the two fought for hours, they had caused such damage that it looked like something from years of abuse. He had halted the fight, stopping them...but before Antiope could even question the god, he simply stopped her, and had put her to sleep within a chamber for punishment, planning for her to reawaken the day a hero of her power would be needed again. While he sent Nemesis back down to Hades, unknowing of the fact that he was the one responsible for the the recent issues, and for Nemesis gaining her powers.

Antiope's tomb laid untouched, and undisturbed for centuries...and millenia. Until an architect had stumbled onto the tomb, and the coffin that held the amazon within. For extra research, he felt he had to send it back overseas, and the coffin was brought to a research lab within City Center, in Angel Falls. As the scientists attempted to open the coffin, they had broken the seal, and caused it to open, revealing the nude, yet totally preserved goddess, in a sleep state. Before they could get closer, she had instantly woken up...confused, and in a fury, she smashed her way out of the facility, escaping to the Harbor District before the police could get to her. Confused...and slightly afraid, Zeus had come to her in a vision, explaining where she was, and what had happened in the time Antiope was sleeping. Surprised and taken aback, she had found refuge in an abandoned warehouse, unsure of how she was going to get by in this world.

She slept through the night, but had reawoken to an old fisherman named Dalton and his son Chris standing over her, their guns pointed at her in fear. Antiope picking up on their fear tried her best to communicate with them, but the language barrier hit pretty hard. She spoke Greek, while they were English. It took basic signs before that barrier was broken, and soon enough, the two had gotten her clothes, and other minor things to get by on. Since they didn't quite know her name, they simply called her Venus, due to her exotic beauty. Although there were reports of the incident at the labs, she thought little of it, as she spent the next few weeks learning the English language. She still had a slight accent, but she was just glad she could at least understand the words and things of this world. Watching the television, she had picked up on several reports of super heroes and heroines and villains and others who were using their abilities, and a thought crossed her mind, as a smile crept onto her face.

“A challenge. Maybe they could give me one...” The seasoned warrior uttered lightly, as she quickly sprung to her feet. She had to see Zeus before she made any further choices, Dalton and Chris informed her that if she ever needed a place to stay, their boat home was always available. Feeling kinship with the first set of people she truly got to know in this new world, she had prayed to Zeus, for his blessing for her next endeavour. He gave his blessing, as long as she tried to help instill the justice that she once did back in the ancient times, and she was fine with that. With an outfit from Hephaestus awaiting her once she had finished her prayer, she had decided to begin her legend in this new city. She didn't call herself a hero by any means... she saw herself as someone who would just do what needed to be done, choosing to now go by the name that her friends had called her. She couldn’t blame herself if she was tempted to stop while a challenge was near by...
