Description
Well. Ami was the second character I made for On Call. She was a fun, interesting thing I wanted to work with. Someone who manipulates pressure, but can also use it to buff herself if she needed to. Currently going through a not so nice phase. So this outfit is reflecting on that current state.

<ins>Piezokinesis (Pressure Manipulation) :</ins>
Ami's primary power, and something she takes great pride (and feari in), is her ability to manipulate pressure. Her ability should not be something that should be considered Gravity Manipulation. Her powers do work in a far different degree. With her ability she is capable of generating, shaping, redirecting and manipulating pressure. With this she is capable of -
<ins>Explosive Bursts :</ins>
By Manipulating the pressure of air or touching a surface, she is capable of generating an explosive force that is capable of punching through most metals, and denting far stronger metals. Upon human skin, if applied can also cause severe bruising, or if focused within someone, could explode a limb. But this is only possible through her literally touching someone. She is seriously not skilled or knowledgeable enough to do this from a range.
<ins>Superhuman Strength :</ins>
Using pressure to manipulate her body's density, she can increase her physical weight, and muscular mass to higher levels allowing her to reach prodigious levels of physical strength. While she has not truly figured out how strong she is, she has managed to rip off the limb of a Mega-Destroid and beat it down using it's own limb. While she could be capable of more, she's kinda worried about collateral damage.
<ins>Concussive Blasts :</ins>
Manipulating air pressure, she's capable of blasts of raw pressure which Ami uses as invisible blasts. While they have artillery shell like properties at full charge, she often uses them like aerial blasts to give herself a ranged ability.
<ins>Air Crushing :</ins>
Manipulating the atmosphere around a person or object, she can mimic the ability to crush an object with almost gravatational like properies...the only issue is it would require her to fully focus on that one object or person. While she has done it to at the most 2 objects at once, she seems to have more trouble the more objects she tries to do at once.
<ins>Enhanced Recovery :</ins>
Ami can recover from injury at roughly 1/2 to 1/4 the time it would take an average human being to. While this would not be something she could regrow limbs from, broken bones and wounds are another story.
<ins>Enhanced Durability :</ins>
Ami's muscle and bone density allow her to be able to take a moderate amount of physical trauma and be able to walk away from it. Getting hit by a car, she'd be able to walk away from it after a bit. Getting hit by a bus...well. She'd be down for a bit. Anything worse. Bad day.

<ins>Remarkable Natural Strength :</ins>
Ami due to her athletic background before her mutation was capable of some rather impressive feats of strength. Due to her long history as a powerlifter, she's capable of unassisted by her abilities, deadlifts of 400 lbs, overhead presses of 250 lbs, and benches of 300 lbs. When she does use her power to augment her natural abilities, it does raise them to great exponential heights.
<ins>Experienced Martial Artist :</ins>
Ami is versed in Judo, Kickboxing, and is knowledgeable in street brawling. While she uses those for her Mixed Martial Arts career, she also applies them to her heroic career also.
<ins>Flight :</ins>
Using her pressure manipulation, she uses it to allow herself unassisted flight.
Equipment and other Items: None Really used outside of the suit she sometimes wears.
Limitations:
<ins>Warmth :</ins>
In a much warmer climate, or if her body heat is a bit high, her powers can become far more potent or effective...while in a colder climate, her ability to condense or manipulate pressure can be a bit weaker, or not as effective. She has no idea about how or why it happens like so...but...she often works out, so her natural body heat is a bit warmer than most.
Backstory:
Born in Santa Monica, and raised by parents who lived and died as paragons of fitness, Ami spent much of her life on the sands of Muscle Beach Venice. Spending much time as a budding child learning and meeting different people who came from so many parts of the world to enjoy just even experiencing the mecca of athleticism. While the lessons she learned from her parents and idols helped her grow into a very disciplined young woman, she took to martial arts in her youth. While her father was very gung-ho about her meeting so many people, her mother was not as forceful, after learning her lesson with Ami's older sibling Dahlia, although then again, Ami got far more enthusiastic about anything her parents spoke of.
While she spent a lot of time picking up Judo, she had started to get the itch for Powerlifting and multiple forms of weightlifting around the age of 14, and it took full steam from there. Ami also earned the nickname Curl among her peers due to her extreme love of curl related exercises. But while she thought if anything boys, training, and throwing people would be the only things she had to worry about in her youth, nature took a different approach to that. The first instance of her abilities taking shape occurred when she was at a state meet, and as she was preparing for a Clean and Jerk, the moment she got the bar over her head...it exploded. While everyone was freaked out...Ami was also. Pieces of metal tore through several people through the accidental show of power.
With her parents confused from what happened, they had ignored the situation and tried to live like nothing happened. But as more and more issues managed to pop up, they had realized, there was more to Ami than there was on the surface. Not equipped to handle her, they had sent her to the Ravenswood Campus in hopes she would be able to gain guidance in her new status as a metahuman. Her stay didn't last long as while she was thankful for some of the things she had learned, she felt if anything, imprisoned by the school.
Leaving shortly after her 19th birthday, she took to moving to moving to Manhattan for some time. Taking up a job as a secretary at a Mixed Martial Arts gym, she had started to pick up skills from the instructors, skills that eventually had them suggest her taking up a career in the fighting ring. While she never made pro, she did manage to have a rather positive amateur record (While her durability could have been a minor...cheat. But who was complaining?!) While she occasionally tried to be a good Samaritan with her powers, she never truly felt being a hero would be her thing. It just wasn't her karma in her opinion, and she felt if anything, there were far better people who could do it.
Which, fast forward to Millennium City, 7 years later. Upon working in a metahuman gym, she met one Linda Taylor, one she became decent friends with after a shared interest in one Jen Matrix's career. While helping her through a set, Linda had found out about Ami's own metahuman abilities while they worked together. When Linda had tried to preach to her much in the manner her heroes once did so long ago, Ami was trying to downplay her own self worth and her own effectiveness despite being a normally VERY self confident person. But when money was mentioned as an issue, Linda had mentioned On Call and some of the benefits she could potentially gain from being a defender of the innocent. While Ami wasn't a bad person...money didn't sound half bad at all.
A week later...she made the call. Upon joining, it was not too bad, or at least at first. Upon battling someone who used telepathy as a main form of attack, Ami suffered from an instance that for the most part has stayed with her since. As someone normally in control, it...was something that unnerved her, that people had the ability to stop her from being able to do what she wanted to do with her body. As she was controlled to attack her teammates, it was something that made her an emotional mess, and it took some time for the rookie to get over. As she grew in skills and abilities, her confidence returned to her...only for it to be ripped away once again. Upon investigating something involving the Rikti, Ami and her teammates on the mission were attacked on multiple fronts. First on a telepathic level...then they were forced to fight one another after slaughtering so many refugees they were seeking to assist. Despite Ami's strongest attempts, she had to watch like a prisoner in her own body in horror and despite Ami's greatest struggles, an attack that was in self defense while being controlled when they began to fight one another, cost her comrade Black Jack an eye and severely injured him. The snark that Ami was known for was wiped away...her jovial nature melted as she thought of nothing but revenge. Sweet. Bloody. Revenge. She had changed her uniform from the blue and silver people normally knew her for, to something of a red and black nature. Going off grid, she tried to hunt for leads, and had done many things...some she was not proud of to try and find leads. As Ami was eventually brought back in, she was made to realize as much as she wished to bring hell to the group that was known as Operation Demand, she was better off doing it without fighting everyone. Deciding maybe she needed to rely on her friends again, she took her fists back up and prepared herself for the next phase against this enemy that had caused her and others so much pain.

Oh my god, she's her own gravity room! She gets to keep more money in her pocket and not lift at the gym! PROFITABLE ABILITY IS PROFITABLE.
